Bucks Spoil Home Opener for the Thunder

The Milwaukee Bucks decided to play spoiler on Wednesday night. In front of just over 19,000 fans at the Ford Center in Oklahoma City, the Milwaukee Bucks defeated the Thunder 98-87. This was the home opener for the Thunder, a team that moved from Seattle last year. It should be no surprise that the Bucks won. After all, they beat a team that had only 20 wins last year. Still, a win is a win and the Bucks find themselves even at 1-1.

One thing has stood out in these first two games and that is fast break points. The Bucks are giving up to many and not getting enough. In their first game against Chicago they had 1 to the Bulls 20 . Against the Thunder they fared a little better getting 8 fast break points, but they gave up 17. Keep an eye on this as the season progresses. The ability to stop the fast break as well as the ability to get out on the break and score both contribute to whether or not a team wins or loses on a regular basis. The Bucks also committed 19 turnovers and only had 17 assists. That's not a winning ratio.

On a positive note, Redd, Jefferson and Villanueva each contributed 20 points. Bogut chipped in 14 and Bell contributed 11.
