One of the ideas I have is for a true "Buck(s)" night. Tell me what you think of this.
I would select a couple of games (maybe up to 4 or 6) per year where EVERY ticket would be sold for $1. That's right. Tickets would go on sale so many hours before the game and only be available at the ticket window. First come first served.
I would limit the number of tickets you could purchase to avoid the scalpers trying to scoop them all up. So, for $1 you could be sitting courtside. How cool would that be?
Of course, I would try to get some corporate sponsors to chip in a bit to help offset some of the costs. Imagine the "buzz" this would create.

This guy is an absolute moron. So, he would forgo take in $18,717 for four games? If you assume the average ticket costs $50.00 and say attendance is 14,000, then you cost yourself about $680,000 per revenue per game, or just under $3 Million for 4 games. Good luck finding a corporate sponsor willing to give you $100,000 let alone $3 Million.
Very smart. You are just what the NBA wants in an owner.
This website is really going to be taken seriously with jackasses like you posting nonsense like this.
An owner who caters to the fans - there's a interesting concept. I doubt anything will come of this but I gotta give you credit for trying. So the idea is that an owner who is already filthy rich (this example you are proposing is lilely not you but posted for your average millionaire owner) would take a cut in profit for a few games to give the fans something new. Wow! No wonder this has never been thought of before, few millionaires is willing to part with their mass of $ and it takes a "regular" guy top think of something that benefits the many. Good luck! At least someone is proposing something new to this mess of a team. Just do me a favor and hire a veteran GM, veteran coach and sign someone to lead this team! And don't mind jackasses calling you a jackass - people tend to fear and criticize what they don't understand!

Herb Kohl should have his ass kissed by every bucks fan ever. If not for him, if it were any other person owning this team, they'd be in another city.
I think the concept is idealistic, but a bit naive.
There are very few people out there who will trust an individual to collect money for such a cause, while having the confidence that the said individual will act any differently than current ownership.
Perhaps, if the idea were to have Mr. Kohl allowing the team to go public and create residency requirements for the purchase of shares in order to create a situation more like that of Green bay, it would provide the finacial support and increased fan interest that the Milwaukee Bucks so desparately need right now.
I would propose you changed the premise to:
"If WE owned the Milwaukee Bucks"
Even if it were possible for such a thing to happen, and I do not pretend to know enough about such an action to have any idea if indeed it is possible. We still have an out dated facility for NBA franchise.
Do we dare ask the people of southeastern Wisconsin to support the construction of another sports arena.
I personally would not have issue with supporting the Bucks in the same manner with which I support the Brewers, but, then again, I am an avid local sports fan.
There are many in the Milwaukee area that believe that building Miller Park with our dime for every hundred spent, is a travesty.
Mr. Kohl has done so much for sports fans here in WI, that I feel we do not give him enough credit, while placing far too much blame for the state of the Milwaukee Bucks.
We should indeed be thankful to the Senator for denying the sale to MJ and his partners, which would have given Chicago a pair of teams.
If Mr Kohl still wants to sell, Perhaps it could be done in such a way that would give the people of the city a stake in the francise.

your a fucking moron. The bucks are struggling no doubt and have been for a number of years but they are going to stay in Milwaukee forever. Eat my shit.
your never going to own the bucks. You don't know the first thing about ownership in the NBA let alone common sense in the real world.
I am very interested in this. But I think if you want it to be ture, you can't hope other people's donation! It's too hard to get the aim.But if you make it as a business, that will be easy to go.
You can make it just like financial derivatives. And could pay the buyers some interest, maybe about 10% per year in the collecting times, and after own the Bucks, you can share the profit with the buyers.I like the Bucks very much, especially YI!I hope it will be ture.Let me help you.If you are interested in my proposal, please E-mail me.My E-mail is lyan-lian@hotmail.com
While I appreciate all feedback be it positive or negative, I would ask that you keep the foul language to yourself. Rip my idea all you want, call me an idiot, I don't mind, but please refrain from using words that really aren't necessary. You can express your view without using the F-word and other profanity. I don't want to moderate the comments, but I will if I have to.
Mark Cuban has provided a number of incentives to fans. For one fan appreciation night he gave everyone in attendance 2 free airline tickets. Since Dallas sells out, lets assume, for the sake of numbers, that 18,000 people were in attendance and the average cost of an airline ticket was $250. That amounts to $9,000,000. Even if everyone only got one ticket that would be 4.5 million.
This is pretty foolish, sounds like people would be fighting over courtside seats.
It is my dream job to be the GM of the Bucks. I have been a Bucks fan my whole life and can't stand to see them get their butts kicked almost every night. I think Harris has lost all chances of building a championship team. Again this year the bucks probably won't make the playoffs and we can hope for another lottery pick. I am sending my offer to Sen Kohl with a plan to make the Bucks competitive within 3 years. I will work for $125K and if I don't produce will pay back one years salary. I am willing to put my money where my mouth is. I have freaky good judgement with basketball talent. All I ask for is a shot.
While this is great for generating ideas and promoting the bucks, I think that we need to think outside the box to raise revenue.
Why dont we involve the local Native Americans. Ask them to help finance a new arena, which in return, allow them to open a gaming room there. This would be attractive to a new owner and also help revive the area around the BC.
I would be willing to help the cause and secure a job in the front office for promotions.
J-Train 125K? reach for the star bro and aim higher. 125k couldnt even pay for Harris suits!!
rah
Well said rah and I agree about the suits. I guess greasy look hasn't landed us anything but another lottery pick so I wanted to try a fresh approach. One where we could build a team with team defense, good role players, a strong coach, and a few key personnel. I figured the $3k for a suit would come after the 3 year period.

J-train,
3k for a suit. there is always the burlington coat factory or the Big/tall outlet you can go and save yourself a few bucks, i mean dollars.
Remember J-train, once you go squaw, they always come back for their MOJO. Remember to keep one eye open!!!
more to gaming, more to bourbon, more to bucks lottery 2008.
give me back my son.

thunderheart!
Very Rome-esque blog there my "sun god" friend. Gaming isn't a bad idea but it might bring up some legal ramifications. How about the concept of a good basketball team and having exciting promotions. It's really about putting a good product on the court first, and from there things should flow from there.
war barbaro
J-train,
trick are for kids and pimps. Gaming is where it is at. You have slots machines and then that eliminates all questions regarding fixing of games etc....
Promotions, pay what you weigh night. Remember what charles said to clyde. WHew looke at those.......
quality basketball is what it is all about, that is why the college game is so popular. Players playing for the payday instead of just showing up. Money is the root of the cause of this mediocre product. Take away the guarantee money, make contacts incentive based and then lets see these great athletes do what they do best. What to know why the euros are taking over, they play the game as a team much like detroit. What ever happened to the art of hitting the open 15 jump shot and making free throws, setting picks and ball movement.
having some quality dancers wouldnt be that bad either. Maybe i will contact School Girls for talent!!!!
Good night now,

Also, a league source told The News that the Bucks' owner, Milwaukee Sen.Herb Kohl, yesterday rejected a trade that would have sent Randolph and either Fred Jones or Jared Jeffries to Milwaukee for a package including Bobby Simmons, Charlie Bell and Dan Gadzuric, who all have long-term contracts.
Milwaukee GM Larry Harris, who may be let go at season's end, is eager to make a deal to help his struggling team and presented a similar package to Kohl in January. However, Kohl is reluctant to approve any trades Harris brings to him. The Knicks and Bucks have tried to orchestrate several trades this season, including one that would have featured Stephon Marbury.
This is why Kohl needs to sell. He can't focus on the Bucks. Let the GM do his job. If he does it poorly, then get rid of him. Stop micro-managing this team.
